Best Linux Distro for Beginners Looking to Learn

I recently had to stop using Windows 10 because my PC gave out, and I've been interested in switching to Linux instead of shelling out for Windows 11. I've got about six weeks off due to an injury, so I'm eager to dive into learning. My current knowledge of Linux is pretty basic. What Linux distribution would you recommend for someone like me? I've heard good things about Ubuntu, but I'm also curious about Arch since I want to really understand how Linux works. Any thoughts?

Since you’re coming from Windows, you might also like Zorin OS. It can be customized to look and feel like Windows 10, making the transition smoother. Otherwise, Mint is always a solid option!

You really can learn Linux with any distro. For the very beginning, I'd say starting with Mint or PikaOS is best, but if you're keen on configuring things yourself, Debian could be a good challenge.

I'd recommend Mint or CachyOS if you're into Arch but want an easier start. Both provide a solid introduction while letting you explore more advanced features down the line.

Don’t rush into Arch right away! Fedora with KDE is fantastic for beginners. It has a lot of pre-installed applications and useful settings that make it easier to learn, though you'll still need to do a bit of setup after installation.

If I were you, I’d start with something simpler like Linux Mint, Fedora, or Ubuntu. They’re beginner-friendly and great for learning the basics. Almost all Linux distros can get the job done, but the easier ones are perfect for getting your feet wet without feeling overwhelmed.
