What Happens If I Accidentally Visit Inappropriate Sites on My Work Phone?

I'm feeling pretty awful right now. I ended up reading some pretty disturbing erotica on a fan fiction site late at night, and only after a while did I realize I was using my work phone the whole time. I was in incognito mode on Chrome, connected to personal Wi-Fi at home, but for some reason, my VPN was turned off. I've got an MDM on the phone, but I've never seen websites being blocked before. This is a global company, so I'm really worried about the consequences. How likely is it that I'll get noticed or flagged for this? I'm terrified and super ashamed about the whole thing!

Unless there was a pop-up warning you about the site, it’s almost impossible for them to have seen it. They would probably have to manually check logs, which just doesn’t happen with most networks. So, unless you’re doing something illegal, you should be in the clear. Don't stress too much about it!

You're probably fine, dude. Most of the time, the IT department isn’t looking out for personal browsing mistakes. As long as your browsing isn’t illegal, they'll likely never know. Worst case, you might get teased a bit by your network admin, but it’s not something that will get you fired.

Honestly, it's really unlikely that anyone noticed or even cares. IT departments focus more on protecting the company rather than policing employee behavior. Just try not to use your work phone for that stuff in the future, okay?
