Why Was My Activate Credits Request Denied?

Hey everyone! I'm working on an early prototype for a governance-focused data and machine learning platform, and I've been trying to get some Activate credits. Unfortunately, every time I submit my application, it gets rejected almost instantly by what seems like an automated system.

I've made sure that all my AWS billing, contact, and business info matches what I provided in my Activate application as well as the details on my project's landing page. Still, nothing works out. I even reached out for support, but they gave me a generic response saying they wouldn't provide specific information about my rejection.

Here's my guess: I set up my AWS account a long time ago while I was living in another country, and I only updated my information recently for this application. Could this still be causing issues with the automated verification system?

That’s a long time to have an AWS account! If they've flagged your account due to the country change, it might be worth creating a new one under your current location. But also, do check if any documentation is needed for your specific region now.

Right! Sometimes even small mismatches can cause automated systems to kick back requests, so double-check everything.

It sounds like the project is in the pre-seed stage, right? They typically want businesses that are more established. If you don’t have an official company yet, that might be part of the problem. But updating your info is definitely crucial, so maybe just keep trying!

Yeah, having a formal company can help a lot with these types of applications. It shows them you’re serious about your project.
