I'm experiencing some lag with my current setup and I'm wondering if it's time to upgrade any components. I bought my parts in June 2023, and here are my specs:
- **GPU:** GTX 1660 Super ($220 / 10500 EGP)
- **CPU:** Ryzen 5 5500 ($86 / 4099 EGP)
- **Power Supply:** Pylon 650W 80 Plus Bronze ($47 / 2250 EGP)
- **RAM:** 16GB ($33 / 1599 EGP, but I know upgrading right now might be tough)
I'm hoping to find upgrades priced around the original cost of each part, but I understand that may not be realistic. I've also never cleaned out my components since building the PC, so I know that could be affecting performance too, and I'm addressing that immediately.

You only need to consider an upgrade if you're unable to play games at your desired settings or FPS. Newer AAA games might give you a tougher time on your current setup, so what's your budget for upgrades?
I really don’t like that processor! If you're looking to upgrade, consider getting a sub-$100 5600X or 5700X for better performance. For the GPU, a 6700XT or 6900XT would be a solid choice. The 6700XT is likely the cheaper option.
What type of lag are you seeing? Are you lagging while playing specific games?
Yep, I've been hitting lag spikes in games like The Witcher 3, Fortnite, and Overwatch. I usually play on medium to lower graphics settings but I'm still getting drops in FPS or not reaching the FPS I expect.

Thanks for the tip on the CPU! I noticed that a 4060 is cheaper than a 6700XT and the performance is pretty close. Would I be missing out on anything significant if I went with the 6700XT?
