Advice on Upgrading My Wife’s PC Build

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some guidance on upgrading my wife's PC as prices are starting to rise. Here are her current specs:

- **CPU:** 12th Gen Intel Core i3-12100F 3.30GHz (4-core)
- **GPU:** NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
- **Motherboard:** Gigabyte B660 DS3H AC DDR4
- **RAM:** 16GB DDR4 (not sure of the brand)

I'm considering either the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X bundle or the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D bundle, both available at Microcenter. Both options come with 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and I'm leaning towards AMD because of recent Intel issues, unless someone can change my mind.

I'm also looking at a GPU upgrade—there's an RTX 5070 12GB on sale for $600 at Microcenter. Are there better options out there? Is it worth switching to AMD graphics cards?

She mainly games and watches YouTube, and is also interested in starting to stream. Her gaming is 1440p, playing demanding titles like Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy, and Fortnite. Space isn't a concern since she has a Hyte Y70 Touch case. Thanks for any help!

Definitely go with the 7800X3D combo; it’s a solid choice for gaming! Regarding graphics cards, the modern AMD options are really close to Nvidia now. The RX 9070 is a great bang for your buck and should perform really well for her gaming needs. You'll be more than happy with that setup!

Sounds like a fun upgrade! For overall value, the 7800X3D is great, especially for gaming at 1440p. The RTX 5070 is good, but if you're looking for something with slightly better performance for similar pricing, the RX 9070 could be a better deal. Just make sure you factor in your budget; around $1500 should give you some great options!

Thanks for the tips! I appreciate the suggestions on the GPU options!

For 1440p gaming and demanding titles, I'd recommend the Ryzen 7 7800X3D bundle. It's got great performance. For the GPU, consider the RTX 5070, but if you can, check out the RX 9070XT as it's competitive in price and performance with a bit more VRAM. You might need a new power supply depending on your current setup, though!
