How Can I Remap My Touchpad Clicks in KDE Fedora?

I'm using KDE on Fedora and I've got a moderate level of comfort with the command line. I'm looking to remap the middle click of my touchpad to act as a right click because of another issue I'm facing. I don't care about keeping the middle click functionality. I've read that Libinput might be the way to go for KDE, but I can't find any remapping utilities in the documentation. Should I just use xinput even though it throws warnings? Also, the Input Remapper GUI doesn't recognize a middle click for some reason, and I can't manually select an input device. I'm hopeful that once I figure this out for my touchpad, it might help me with remapping other mouse-like devices too. My stylus pen can't be remapped via KDE settings due to a known bug, so I'm trying to tackle this with a bit of a heavy-handed approach.

You should give Input Remapper a shot. It might just solve your problems!

Have you checked out the Synaptics driver? It may help with your touchpad remapping issues. Also, there's a useful guide on the Arch Wiki about remapping taps using Libinput. You might find it handy!

I'm a bit confused by that! Is Synaptics just a touchpad brand? I can’t find their drivers anywhere. Are you suggesting I should definitely use xinput instead?

Are you worried about compatibility with Wayland? Because that could impact how things work with KDE and some applications like Bottles if you're using them.

I really don't know much about Wayland. Would it change how KDE looks or how my Bottles setup runs? If not, I guess it’s not a big deal for me. I’m trying to just fix the middle-click issue to improve the stylus pen situation I've been struggling with.
