I'm looking to upgrade my gaming storage, and I've noticed that prices are pretty wild at the moment. Is it worth investing in a large M.2 NVMe drive, or would I get better value with a slower HDD or SATA SSD? I know the latter options are slower, but is any price difference significant enough to overlook the performance drop?

Honestly, I'd recommend going for an NVMe drive. SATA SSDs have become comparably priced to M.2 drives, and HDDs are just really not ideal for gaming anymore—many games even specify that they should be installed on an SSD.

I get where you're coming from, but I don't think most games actually need NVMe speeds. However, since prices are similar, I'm leaning towards SATA since I’m tight on M.2 slots.
