I'm planning to swap my motherboard, but I'm using the same CPU. I'm moving from one AM4 motherboard to another and I've never had a Windows license, so reactivation isn't a concern for me. I recently updated to Windows 11, so I'm curious if that affects anything. From what I've read, it seems doable, but I'd love to get a second opinion.

I can’t speak on Windows licensing exactly, but since your OS is tied to your SSD/HDD, you should be fine. I’ve changed SSDs between laptops with activated Windows, and it worked without a hitch. So, I think you’re good to go!
You don't have to reinstall Windows, but definitely make sure to install the drivers for the new motherboard once you swap it out.

Yeah, Microsoft doesn’t seem to worry too much about licensing for regular users anymore. They just want everyone to use Windows so they can push their subscription services!
