I'm looking to get some advice on the performance of Grand Theft Auto V on my current setup, which includes a Nvidia GT 740 graphics card, an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 238GB SSD. I don't have all the specs yet but thinking of getting a graphics card within a budget. Can anyone give me an idea of what FPS I can expect?

For your setup, trying to play anything newer, like GTA V, could be pushing it. If you can, check YouTube for benchmarks of the GT 740 with similar specs. That'll give you a gist of what to expect.

Just a heads up, the GT 740 is pretty outdated and might not meet the game's minimum system requirements. If you're paying good money for that setup, watch out for potential scams—definitely worth investigating alternatives.

Yeah, if it sounds too good to be true, trust your gut!

Absolutely! Don't get roped into a bad deal.

Honestly, that setup is pretty outdated. The GT 740 was low-end when it launched, so while you might get GTA V to run, it's going to be a struggle, and the experience won't be great. I'd recommend looking into something like a used GTX 1050 or even a GTX 1660 Ti if possible. It’ll make a world of difference.

Good call! I'm aiming for better performance, so I’ll keep my eyes open for those cards.

Yeah, go for the GTX models, they'll serve you much better!

You can expect around 30-45 FPS on very low settings. The GT 740 isn't exactly a powerhouse, so while it'll run the game, it's going to be a barebones experience. If your budget allows, consider looking for a better card like the GTX 980, which is often available for a decent price.

That sounds more promising! I'll definitely check for the GTX 980 in my area.

Yeah, a solid upgrade might make a huge difference!

To be honest, trying to game with only 8GB of RAM could be problematic too. Even if the game runs, how well it performs can vary, especially since you need some memory for the OS as well. You might get it to work but monitoring your resource usage would be key.

My old rig had similar RAM, and it struggled. Definitely something to consider!

Right? Better to plan for an upgrade before diving in!
