I'm looking for the most reliable method to clone my Windows operating system from an old 256GB SSD to a new 1TB SSD. It's been a while since I did this—last time I think I used a live Linux distro. I've heard mixed reviews about Macrium, and it seems a bit outdated. What tools do you recommend for this process?

Honestly, there's not much need to clone your OS at all. A clean install of Windows is quick, and SSDs are fast enough that it won't take long. Just install Windows on the new drive and transfer your files afterwards!
Macrium is still pretty solid and actively maintained. If you follow the best practices, it can work well for your cloning needs. Don’t write it off just yet!
Clonezilla is definitely reliable for cloning your SSD. It worked for me last time, and it seems to be a popular choice among users. Worth giving it another shot!
I usually use Minitool Partition Wizard on Sergei Strelec's WinPE. Just do a quick search, it can be easily downloaded from MajorGeeks. It's straightforward and gets the job done!
Most SSD manufacturers offer their own cloning software for free. Check the website of your SSD brand; you might find an easy solution there!

I think I used Clonezilla the last time I cloned a drive too. Gonna try it again this time!
