Hey everyone! I'm curious if anyone here is currently working as a DevOps engineer at major tech companies like FAANG or MAANG. I'm particularly interested in hearing about the interview process. What kind of rounds can I expect? Are there specific questions they typically ask? Also, is knowledge of data structures and algorithms (DSA) important for these interviews?

A friend of mine who works in DevOps at Amazon had a slightly different experience. They had a data structures and algorithms round, along with system design questions focused on on-call and SRE topics. Although they didn't have to grind through a lot of LeetCode problems, knowing the basics is definitely important. Just a heads up—it's getting tougher to land these positions, and the hiring process is super slow right now!
I went through two technical interviews recently. The first one involved a coding challenge using Minikube, where I had to troubleshoot a deployment issue. The second was a coding session in Golang, where I created a simple API service with health check endpoints and implemented some rate limiting features. After those, I had a system architecture interview, and that pretty much wrapped it up for me! By the way, my interviews were with AWS.
Don't get too caught up in worrying about this stuff. Overthinking it can be a distraction in your overall career growth.

Thanks for the insight! I'm not actively looking for a job at the moment, but I want to prepare well for opportunities at companies like Visa, LinkedIn, Oracle, Meta, and ServiceNow.
