I've recently switched to using Linux Mint 22.2 Cinnamon and I love it so far! However, I'm struggling with installing MC Forge. I've followed several guides and double-checked everything, but nothing seems to work. Whenever I try to run the executable, I get an error and a log is generated. The log often mentions "No X11 DISPLAY variable was set," and I'm not sure what that means or how to fix it. Can anyone shed some light on this? What do I need to install or change? Thanks in advance!

To help you out better, could you share your system specs? Running `upload-system-info` could give a good overview, or you could paste the output using termbin. Also, double-check if Java is installed by using `javac --version`. As for MC Forge, I believe using something like Prismlauncher should have most setups covered, but it's been a while since I dealt with Minecraft on Linux.
It sounds like you're doing a lot of the right things. Can you tell me exactly what steps you've taken? For example, are you trying to run it from the terminal, and did you make the jar file executable? Also, make sure you have the latest version of Java installed. That's often a key point in these setups.
I've tried running it from the terminal and turned the jar file into an executable. I even reinstalled Java just to make sure I wasn't using an outdated version.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check out Prismlauncher. Here are my specs: [termbin.com/kw71](https://termbin.com/kw71)
