With GPU prices expected to rise significantly in the next few months, I'm contemplating whether to upgrade my RTX 4070 to a 5080. My goal is to future-proof my PC and avoid spending excessively later on. Any thoughts or advice?

Consider your CPU too. I thought about doing the same upgrade, but I realized my CPU might hold me back more than the GPU would, especially with my x470 motherboard and a 5700x3d.
It really depends on the resolution and refresh rate of your monitor. If you can share those details, it could help us give you better advice!
I’d say go for it! Upgrading to a 5080 gives you a solid boost in performance. If you have the budget, now's the time to act before prices soar next year.
If your 4070 isn't cutting it anymore, then replacing it is worth it. Just keep in mind, no upgrade will truly future-proof you; it's all about finding balance in performance and cost.
Is a 5600 a good match for a 4070 at 1080p?
Why wouldn't it be future-proof? I'm kinda new to this!
Thinking about moving from a 4080 to a 5080 too! 😂 Might as well ride this upgrade wave while we can!
I switched to a 5K x 1440p monitor for racing games and found my 3080ti struggling. Upgrading made a noticeable difference in Star Citizen. I even spotted a couple of 5080s at Microcenter for $1000!

I'm using a 4k 144hz monitor.
