What’s the purpose of this power switch on my desktop?

I just bought a desktop for my son, and I'm trying to figure out the power switches on it. There's a PSU switch located at the back, but there's also another on/off switch right below it that I'm not sure about. I got a quick explanation at the store, but I've forgotten the details, and I'm a bit anxious about plugging it in. The system includes high-end components like an AMD Ryzen 7 processor, a powerful graphics card, and a 1200W power supply. Can anyone clarify what this other switch is for?

That PSU switch can generally stay on all the time. Just remember to turn it off when you're disconnecting the power cable from the wall.

The second switch you're seeing is likely just a separate power switch for the power supply. You should keep it in the 'on' position while using the computer.

I usually only flip my PSU switch off when I'm unplugging everything or moving the PC.

There’s a good chance that switch is for a "Zero RPM" or "Eco Mode" for the PSU fan. This feature keeps the fan off when the system isn't under heavy load, helping to keep things quiet.

Just go ahead and plug it in! If the computer won't turn on, you can try toggling that switch. It’s pretty safe, nothing bad will happen.
