Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my setup and want to know what's the best CPU to pair with an RTX 5070 Ti. Right now, I've got an i3-10400 and a GTX 1060, but it's time for an upgrade. I've been doing some research and I've come across recommendations for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 7 7800X3D. However, I'm torn between whether to spend the extra cash on the 9800X3D or to save some money and opt for the 7800X3D instead. I mainly use a 34" ultrawide 1440p monitor and also plan to connect it to my LG C4 55" OLED TV. I mostly play AAA games and MMORPGs, but I don't really play FPS games. So, in your opinion, which CPU would work best with the RTX 5070 Ti?

Given the current RAM prices, I’d probably just get a 10700F and call it a day. At 1440p, you shouldn’t face much bottlenecking, unless you've already purchased components for a new build. If not, then I'd suggest saving some bucks and going for the 7800X3D instead.
You might not need to drop that much cash. What are the full specs of your current setup? Maybe there's a more budget-friendly option that could still do the trick without spending a ton on a new CPU.
I faced a similar dilemma recently. I found that the 9800X3D has better thermals and manages heat better than the 7800X3D. I ended up going with the 9800X3D for about $60 more, and it feels like a solid choice.
MMORPGs can be quite CPU intensive, so it's definitely worth considering that. If the price difference is around $100, I'd lean towards the 7800X3D, but if it's closer to $50, then the 9800X3D could be the better option. Plus, the 9800X3D tends to have better cooling, which is a plus if you're going for a compact build or air cooling options.
That's a good point! In my case, the price difference here is actually $155 between the two.

That’s interesting! Over here, the gap between the two models is $155, but when comparing 9800X3D on Amazon, it's actually a $105 difference since it's out of stock!
