I'm currently working in a non-tech job, but I'm eager to switch careers and dive into programming. As a complete beginner, I'm looking for some guidance on how to get started. I've started learning Python because it's known for being beginner-friendly, but I'm not sure if that's the right path. Can anyone share a roadmap or tips for transitioning into programming?

Check out the pinned article "New? READ ME FIRST" in the sidebar of programming communities. It has a ton of useful tips on getting started. Learning Python is a great move, and as you progress, you can explore other languages too! Each has its strengths and weaknesses.
Going to college could be beneficial, but I get that it might not be feasible for everyone right now. Focus on self-learning and practical experience instead!
Yeah, college isn't an option for me at the moment.
Prepare for the rise of AI in programming! It might be wise to position yourself as an architect who understands both software development and AI applications.
That’s interesting! Any good resources for learning about AI?
I found this resource really helpful: roadmap.sh/python. It lays out a clear path for learning Python. Definitely worth a look!
