I'm using an HP laptop with Windows, and there's this keyboard shortcut that really annoys me—I keep accidentally hitting Ctrl+P. Whenever I try to do other shortcuts like Ctrl+A or Ctrl+C, my fingers sometimes slip and hit Ctrl+P instead. This leads to the printer pop-up showing up unexpectedly, and it's frustrating; I almost printed a bunch of pages from a chat group recently! I've been able to hit "Cancel" every time, but I'm worried one day I'll accidentally print a bunch of useless pages and waste ink and paper. I've tried using a Chrome extension to disable it, but that didn't work at all. Is there a way to permanently turn off this shortcut? Thanks for any help! Oh, and I type about 77 words per minute with 98% accuracy according to typing.com, which is probably unusual for a hunt-and-peck typist, but I'm just trying to figure this out!

Honestly, Ctrl+P is a common shortcut but it sounds like you might need to focus on your finger placement a bit. It might be tricky to disable it completely since some apps might not allow that functionality. And, hey, have you thought about just slowly working on improving your typing skills?
You might want to check out AutoHotkey for a quick fix—it's pretty straightforward and should help you disable Ctrl+P. On another note, if you're making a lot of typing mistakes, maybe consider taking a touch-typing course. It can really improve your typing comfort and accuracy!
I get that! My fingers just refuse to learn touch typing, no matter how much I practice.
I get that it seems crazy, but combining fast typing with hunt-and-peck might lead to some unexpected key presses. As a workaround, maybe set the Microsoft Print to PDF as your default printer, so it won't waste paper when you accidentally hit that shortcut.
That's a solid idea! At least that way my printing will just create PDFs instead of wasting paper.

Yeah, I've been typing the same way since school! I think it might be in my genes or something.
