I just built my new gaming PC, but I discovered that one of my Crucial DDR5 RAM sticks is defective. I bought it from Amazon, and while I can return it for a refund, I'm debating whether it's worth it to go for the 32GB upgrade I originally planned or just stick with the 16GB I have now. Any advice?

If the dead RAM is under warranty, they should replace it, not just give you your money back. Make them accountable for the faulty product. You paid for a working kit, so push for a replacement!
Definitely go for 32GB! It’ll make a significant difference with today’s games. It helps with loading times and multitasking, too. Plus, if you're gaming, having that extra RAM will be beneficial down the line.
Honestly, if you can get a refund for the faulty RAM, I’d recommend taking it and looking for a replacement. 16GB may not cut it for gaming anymore, so having 32GB could really help with performance in modern games.
If you're set on getting a new kit, or even thinking about a repair, I’d say do it! 32GB is the way to go, and you don’t want to be stuck with just 16GB when newer games demand more.
If you're worried about prices, consider buying the same RAM from another retailer, swapping the bad stick, and returning it for a refund. It’s a hassle, but you could save some money that way!
