Hey everyone! I'm currently a Computer Science student and I've developed an Internet Service Provider simulation using Oracle VM. It includes features like DHCP, DNS, and the expected functionalities of an ISP. On Wednesday, I'll be presenting this project in front of my strict teachers, who will act as clients for this mock scenario. I've never done a presentation like this before, and I'm feeling pretty anxious about it. I'm looking for advice from experienced developers or anyone working in tech: what should I do to appear professional? Should I use PowerPoint to aid my explanation? Should I focus on explaining the code, the overall concept, or how the software operates? What are typical expectations during such a presentation? Any tips would be immensely appreciated, as I really want to impress my teachers, especially since one of them comes from a high-profile background at Microsoft. Thank you!

It's usually a good idea to clarify your teachers' expectations. If they didn’t specify much about the presentation, it might help to reach out and ask them more directly. It's pretty common to have a clear scope before meetings in the industry, so don't hesitate to confirm what they're looking for. Just a thought!
Definitely! It’s important to know exactly what they want.
In a professional setting, developers often don’t communicate directly with clients; that's usually the role of a project manager or analyst. I find that when presenting, focusing on how your project solves a problem can be more valuable than delving deep into the code itself. Consider putting that perspective in your presentation!
That makes a lot of sense! I'll definitely aim for a problem-solving angle. Thanks for the advice!
Great idea! Clients are usually more interested in the results than the code specifics.

Thanks for the suggestion! I agree it’s a little odd they didn't provide clearer guidance, but I’ll make my best effort anyway.
