Hey folks! I recently picked up a 9070XT and I'm considering upgrading my CPU to prevent any potential bottleneck issues. Currently, I'm using an Intel i5 10400F alongside 32GB (16x2) of DDR4 RAM at 3600MHz CL18. I'm thinking about getting a 5800X3D or an i5 14600KF since I'd like to keep using my existing RAM. Do you think that's a good plan? Also, could my RAM affect the GPU's performance adversely? I could sell my old RAM and switch to 16GB of DDR5 if it's worthwhile. Any advice would be appreciated! 🤔

That’s a bit of a misconception; changing to another DDR4 CPU isn't a game changer. I'd recommend keeping your current CPU for now and wait for DDR5 prices to drop or even for DDR6 motherboards to become available.
Definitely go for the 14600K! Plus, try to overclock your RAM to 4000 MHz for some extra performance benefits!
Before deciding, what’s your budget and what resolutions and quality settings do you intend to play at? That info could really help narrow down your options.
Honestly, your current CPU isn’t a huge bottleneck, and with the crazy prices of the X3D CPUs right now, you might want to hold off. Your RAM is totally fine as is.
Why do you feel you need to upgrade to avoid a bottleneck? Could you share your reasons?
