I'm building a new silent PC using a Fractal case, and I'm looking for recommendations on the quietest options available. I want it as compact as possible and fully air-cooled to minimize noise. My system will have a Ryzen X5950X and an RTX 4060, and I need to install at least two 3.5" HDDs, which I'm worried will be noisy. I'm considering the Fractal Design Define 7 Compact or alternatives like the Lancool 217 for better airflow. Does anyone have experience with these cases? Is the Define 7 really the best for reducing HDD noise, or are there quieter options out there?

I've never used an HDD in the Define series, but I've found them to be the quietest cases overall. Lots of users commend them for their sound dampening abilities. If keeping things quiet is your priority, it's definitely worth a shot!
Thanks for sharing the workstation link! It's good to know that the Define 7 is still considered the quietest option for professional builds.
Consider the FormD T1 if you're after a compact size, but keep in mind that it doesn't really help with HDD noise. You might want to look at WD Red Plus HDDs—they're relatively quiet but make sure you have enough storage because they only come in specific sizes.
I need at least 8-10 TB, so I’m not sure if those will work for me.

Thanks! I agree the Define 7 looks great too. I might just go with it since quietness is key.
