Should I Install Windows 11 on My 4TB PCIe 5 NVMe or 1TB PCIe 3 NVMe?

I have a 4TB Samsung 9100 and an older 1TB Corsair MP510, which is a PCIe 3 NVMe. My plan was to use the 4TB for everything and sell the 1TB. However, I'm reconsidering whether I should install Windows on the 1TB drive instead. My concern is that running programs from the 1TB may slow things down a bit, although I've heard it might be fast enough. I'd like to keep the smaller drive for some extra space, but if it doesn't serve a purpose, selling it might be a good option. Any advice on the best setup?

Honestly, keeping the 1TB as extra storage is a good idea. I recently watched a comparison that showed PCIe 3 NVMe drives still performing really well, with only slight delays in loading times compared to the newer ones. It's not crucial which drive hosts Windows, but I prefer to keep my OS and games on the same drive for easy organization. I'd stick Windows on the 4TB.

If you're leaning towards minimizing drives, the 4TB is the better choice for everything, including Windows. But if you want to keep both, either option for Windows would work fine. The loading times should be pretty similar, so you won't really notice a massive difference unless you're doing heavy tasks. The 1TB can still be useful for other files or backups if you decide to keep it.

I've seen people suggest putting Windows on the 1TB, but I'm not sure why. It could be more beneficial to use the faster 4TB for that. If you're worried about storage, you could just move less frequently used files to the smaller drive to keep things tidy.
