Is it worth upgrading to a 1080 Ti or should I go for something newer?

I'm looking to upgrade my older PC since I can't afford to build a new one. Right now, I have an i7 4790 CPU on a motherboard that supports both 4th and 5th generation CPUs, and I maxed out my RAM with 32GB DDR3. My current GPU is a GTX 1070, but I'm thinking about upgrading it. My motherboard only supports up to the 20 series, so I'm considering either the GTX 1080 Ti, 2080, or 2080 Ti. What are your thoughts on which option would be the best value?

You should definitely avoid the 1080 Ti. It's outdated tech and lacks modern features like DLSS, plus it has only 8GB VRAM. The 2080 Ti is still good, but keep in mind your CPU might bottleneck performance in newer games.

Should I also look into getting a 5th generation CPU?

I'd pass on the 1080 Ti since it's getting older and doesn't really get support anymore. You'd be better off investing in something a bit newer if you're looking for longevity.
