Suggestions for Upgrading My PC Build

I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my current PC setup. Right now, I have 32GB of DDR4 3200MHz RAM and a 2TB Gen4 Crucial P310 NVMe SSD. I'm planning to move on from my existing configuration which includes a Cooler Master Masterbox Lite 5 case, an Intel i5-8400 processor, an ASUS Prime B360M-A motherboard, a Cooler Master Hyper 212 cooler, a GTX 1060 6GB GPU, and a 650W PSU. Upgrading to DDR5 at this moment seems a bit pricey for me.

Here's the build I'm considering:
- Cooler Master MasterBox 600 case
- Intel i5-14600K CPU
- Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro cooler
- MSI PRO B760M-A motherboard (using DDR4 for 1-2 years)
- Retaining my current 32GB DDR4 RAM
- RX 9070 XT 16GB GPU
- Corsair RM850x PSU

My main use for this upgrade will be architectural software like Revit, Lumion, and Vray, as well as AAA gaming on my 2560x1080 ultrawide monitor and streaming to a 4K TV using Moonlight/Steam. I'm upgrading because my current motherboard is having issues and shutting down unexpectedly. I might consider a cheap H310 motherboard for a quick fix, but I'd like to plan for the future by upgrading to DDR5 (32GB) and a new motherboard later on. Does this upgrade path look solid, or do you have any suggestions or better alternatives?

It's a good plan, but keep an eye on your budget. Since you're considering the 5.5k H310 motherboard, it could be worth grabbing something more reliable to avoid headaches later. That i5-14600K should serve you well for a while, especially if you’re sticking with DDR4 for a bit longer before transitioning to DDR5.

Your upgrade plan looks pretty solid! If you can find cheap DDR4 RAM on eBay, that might help offset your costs a bit. Plus, with the i5-14600K and RX 9070 XT, you're setting yourself up for great performance in both your architectural software and gaming. Just make sure your cooling solution is compatible with the case you’re choosing!
