Help! Can’t Install Edge and I’ve Got a Browser Hijacker

I'm having some serious issues with my browsers. I tried to get rid of a pesky browser hijacker called newtab.art using FRST, but in the process, I accidentally deleted both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. I've managed to reinstall Chrome, but I'm hitting a snag when trying to reinstall Edge. An error keeps popping up. I even tried turning off the firewall completely, but that just brought up a different error. Edge seems to still be installed, but I can't get it to launch. I'm using Windows 11. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Resetting Windows is often the quickest fix! You can usually do that while keeping your personal files, so it saves you some hassle too. It's worth considering if things get too messy.

First off, make sure you have a backup of all your important files before making any changes, just in case! You can also look into performing a clean install of Windows 11, which might resolve the issue more smoothly. Just be sure to keep Windows Defender active and keep your system updated for the latest virus definitions. Good luck!

You might be able to manually remove the hijacker, but it could be a real headache depending on how entrenched it is in your system. I came across some discussions on the Chrome forums that detailed how it latches onto browsers, which might help if you want to try to tackle it manually.
