I have a solid PC setup with 32 GB of RAM and a Ryzen 5 processor. About five months ago, I had to move for studies and ended up buying a laptop instead. Now, my PC has been sitting on my desk, covered with a cloth, for those five months, and I won't be able to use it for a few more months. I'm curious if this idle time will affect its performance. Is it still going to work like it used to, or am I risking it not turning on at all?

Definitely won't be an issue. Unlike cars, these machines don’t need regular maintenance like oil changes. The only thing is, it’s a good idea to power on an SSD at least once a year to prevent potential data loss, but in your case, a few months is totally harmless.
Your PC should be just fine! I have systems that have sat unused for years, and they always fire right up when I power them on. Just make sure it's in a safe, dust-free place.
You might want to unplug the power cord from the PSU just to be safe, but honestly, it can stay there for years without much concern. Just check the BIOS battery to ensure it can be easily replaced in case it dies.
Honestly, if you’re worried about long-term storage, the shelf life isn't that great. But for a few months? You're totally fine. Just make sure your connectors are clean before you turn it on.
No worries at all! I bought a pre-built machine just to have as backup. It sat in my closet, but when my main rig had RAM issues, I pulled it out, powered it up, and it ran perfectly after a few updates. Just make sure to update it when you can.
Same here! I started mine after 8 months just to prep for a visitor, and it worked great after some updates.

Yeah, that sounds good in theory, but I've left SSDs off for years without problems. It's mostly the cheap stuff that fails.
