I recently ran a Python script that turned out to be a RAT (Remote Access Trojan), and I'm concerned it might still be on my system. I've already used Malwarebytes and the Windows offline tool, but I'm not entirely confident that everything is gone. I've even tried reaching out for help on a tech forum. What are the best steps I can take to make sure my computer is clean and safe again?

A clean install is the most effective way to ensure that everything is removed from your system. Just remember to back up your important files first, and disconnect any extra drives to avoid accidentally transferring anything over. Boot from a USB drive, wipe all partitions, and install Windows fresh. It might sound extreme, but it guarantees that the RAT won't be lurking around.
If you still have the Python code you ran, maybe that could help identify any vulnerabilities. Just be super cautious with backups; make sure your external drives are clean!

I get that a clean install is thorough, but I have a lot of files I can't afford to lose—like a whole terabyte worth! Is there any way to save my files and still be safe?
