Why won’t my laptop screen turn on?

I've been relying on a second monitor for my laptop, but now I'm trying to use the laptop itself without the external display. When I power it on, I see the Lenovo logo, but after that, the screen just goes black. I know the screen isn't broken because it shows the logo. I've tried changing the display settings to single screen and duplicate monitor, and even reset the graphics card, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any suggestions for a fix?

I almost overlooked this, but have you checked the brightness settings? I asked for suggestions before doing a full reset, and that was one of the first things I was told. It sounds silly, but sometimes those settings can change unexpectedly. It feels silly to admit, but I thought I’d share in case it helps someone else!

Have you tried booting into safe mode? It only loads Microsoft drivers, so it can help you figure out if the issue is with drivers or the OS itself.

Thanks! That worked when I was in safe mode. But as soon as I switch back to normal mode, the screen goes black again.
