I'm really over Windows and I'm finally taking the plunge into Linux by trying to install Debian for the first time. I checked the specs for my Ryzen 5 3600 and noticed that AMD's product page only lists support for Ubuntu. Does that mean some processors are limited to specific distributions, or can I confidently install Debian anyway?

Linux is great at supporting virtually any processor from the last couple of decades, so you're in good shape!
CPU compatibility is pretty much the same across all distros, so you shouldn't worry about that.
You can definitely use any distro you want with AMD processors! Ubuntu is based on Debian, so there won't be any issues going with Debian. It's all good!
Every Intel or AMD x86-based CPU should work fine. The reason they tend to highlight Ubuntu is that many folks only recognize a couple of distros, mainly Ubuntu and Red Hat. But don't stress, your processor isn't tied to any specific distro.
Yes, Debian will work perfectly on your Ryzen 5 3600. Honestly, it’ll run smoothly on almost any modern Linux distro. When AMD or companies like Dell talk about "OS Support," it's often just about commercial certifications. Canonical (Ubuntu) and Red Hat have partnerships with hardware vendors, which is why they get mentioned more often.
