Why won’t my new RAM sticks let my PC start up?

I'm not very tech-savvy, and usually, my girlfriend handles all the computer stuff. Unfortunately, she's not around right now. I had a RAM stick break during a move and got two 4GB sticks to replace my original 8GB stick. I think I installed them correctly, but now my PC won't turn on properly. The RGB lights aren't lighting up, most of the fans aren't spinning, and my monitor isn't getting any signal. I have no idea what went wrong or what I could be doing incorrectly. Any suggestions would be super helpful! Sorry if this looks off, I'm posting from my phone.

Mixing different RAM kits can create issues, even if they seem similar. Have you tried installing them in one of the slots at a time to check if one is causing the problem? It might help you pinpoint the issue, and you probably want to try to keep sticks of the same brand and specs. Just my two cents!

Don’t feel bad – technology can be super tricky! It’s not your fault, sometimes hardware just doesn’t play nice. Make sure you're replacing your broken stick with one that has the same speed and timing as the original. And if all else fails, consider having a local shop install the memory for you. They have the tools and knowledge to make sure it works!

What’s the speed of your new RAM, and which motherboard are you using? This info could help narrow things down. You can usually check your motherboard model in your system properties or on the motherboard itself. If you're not sure about the RAM speed, look on the packaging or any labels on the sticks.

First off, check if the new RAM sticks are actually compatible with your motherboard. That's a common issue! Did you get them from someone who upgraded, or are they second-hand? Sometimes, just because they look the same doesn’t mean they’ll work. Also, take a look at how many RAM slots you have. If there are four slots, you should install the sticks in slots 2 and 4 for dual-channel mode. That could help! If the issue persists, it might be a power supply problem. You could also try each stick one by one to see if one of them is faulty.
