Hey everyone! I've been facing an issue where my CPU usage suddenly spikes every 10 to 20 minutes while I'm gaming, which leads to significant frame rate drops, particularly around 12 FPS. This problem occurs across all games I've tested, but it's particularly noticeable in 60 FPS capped titles like Elden Ring, causing severe stuttering. I've tried adjusting the shader cache size and reinstalled my graphics drivers using DDU, but nothing seems to help. I don't believe overheating is the issue. Interestingly, this problem seems to have worsened after a recent driver update, although it was there before as well. Here are my specs:
- GPU: MSI SHADOW 2x RTX 5070
- CPU: I7 14700k
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5
- SSD: P310 1TB
- PSU: MSI MAG 850W
If anyone has insights on how to resolve this, that would be fantastic!

After running the 'sfc /scannow', I found out that XMP was disabled since my games were crashing after my last BIOS update. It looks like that might have played a role in the issue too!
It might be worth running 'sfc /scannow' to check for any system file issues. Also, make sure to see if XMP is enabled in your BIOS settings, as that can sometimes cause stability problems with games. Don't forget to check on any background applications that might be using up CPU resources while you're gaming.
