Best GPU Options Around $500-$550 for a First Build

I'm considering building my first PC and I'm currently looking at the 5070 for my GPU. However, I'm not sure if there are better options in the $500-$550 range. I know it's a tricky time to start building, and I'm also looking at the AMD 7 7700x for my CPU. My total budget is around $1400 or less. Any recommendations or advice?

If you can stretch your budget a bit, the 9070 is a solid option. It's a great card for gaming and should serve you well.

Check out the 9070XT! If you're near a Microcenter, they often sell them for under $600, and you can sometimes find open box deals for as low as $520. It’s worth checking their site regularly to snag one when it's available. Plus, they frequently offer great bundles if you’re piecing together a build!

They had a special on those at my Microcenter the other day for $579, and I couldn't resist—I grabbed one! Totally worth it for the performance you get.

Is buying open box a good idea? Are there risks, or is it usually fine?
