I'm new to Linux and looking for a beginner-friendly distribution that will work well on my laptop, especially for gaming. I need something that can run Monster Hunter World: Iceborne without the heavy RAM usage of Windows 11. Safety is important to me, and I hope to find a distro that's not too complicated for someone transitioning from Windows 11.

As a fellow newbie, I really like Bazzite. I've tested a few others, but Bazzite has been the easiest and has had the best performance for me.
Kubuntu is also a great choice, and I've found that the online guides really help out new users. Plus, the Ubuntu forums are super helpful if you need specific advice.
Is Linux Mint a good option?
You might want to look into any Ubuntu-based distro, Bazzite for an easy-to-use gaming option, or Nobara if you want something focused on gaming.
I would recommend giving Ubuntu a try. It's quite user-friendly and has a good community for support.

It's totally worth it! It's free and works well, so you might find it suits your needs.
