Could a Stuck Windows Update Cause Boot Issues?

I recently experienced a problem while booting my PC. After the initial start-up, it displayed a black screen with just the mouse cursor after the 'Please wait' message, and this happened twice. I got worried because I've heard that recurring issues might indicate something serious. I also noticed that a Windows Update seemed stuck and that made me wonder if it was related to the black screen problem. On my third attempt, I restarted the PC instead of shutting it down completely, and it worked. The update processed, asked for another restart, and after that, everything booted normally. So, I'm curious to know, was the stuck update likely the problem?

Yeah, it sounds like it was definitely related to the Windows update. A black screen with just the cursor typically points to Windows having trouble finishing updates or loading drivers. Since it all cleared up after you installed the update successfully, I wouldn't worry too much unless it happens again. Just keep an eye on it!

I was really nervous about it too! Do you think it could also indicate a problem with the SSD, or is it probably just Windows acting up?
