I've had my PC for about 2 or 3 years now, and I've been experiencing some frustrating performance issues. My specs include a Ryzen 5 5600G 3.90GHz, 16GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA 3060. Despite having decent hardware, I'm not able to achieve stable performance in games. For instance, Fortnite doesn't even maintain a solid 60 FPS on low settings with DirectX 11 performance mode, and all my other games are similarly affected with terrible input lag. I've tried several optimization guides but nothing has improved the situation. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on?

First off, make sure your monitor is connected to the graphics card (GPU) and not the motherboard. If it’s plugged into the motherboard, you won’t get the full performance from your GPU. That’s a common mistake that can lead to the issues you're describing. Let’s start there!
Yeah, if the monitor's connected to the right spot, that could definitely be impacting your FPS.
Have you considered doing a clean install of Windows? Sometimes, old files and settings can cause performance issues. A fresh install might help clear everything out and give your system a new start.
What do you mean by clean install? Like resetting everything?

That's what I was thinking too! Seems like a simple fix, but it can make all the difference.
