Which is Better for Beginners: Linux Mint or OpenSUSE?

I'm a fan of both distros, and I say Mint is the way to go if you're just starting out... unless your hardware is quite new, like less than a year old. In that case, OpenSUSE might be a better fit!

I've recently switched to OpenSUSE for my main setup but I'd still suggest Mint for beginners. It’s really versatile and has great compatibility with a lot of Ubuntu and Debian software. OpenSUSE Tumbleweed is a rolling release that I enjoy, but it can be a bit trickier to set up because it requires more manual installations. If your computer's got the power, you could even try both distros in virtual machines!

From what I've gathered, if you're choosing between Mint and anything else, go with Mint! It's super user-friendly, especially if you're new to Linux. I recommend starting with the Cinnamon desktop it comes with. Once you get the hang of things, you can switch to different desktop environments and customize more if you want.
