Help! My new Gigabyte X870 motherboard won’t power on

Hey everyone! I recently unboxed my new Gigabyte X870 motherboard and connected everything, but when I hit the power button, nothing happens. I tried to minimize the setup by only connecting the PSU with the ATX 24-pin and 8-pin connectors to the motherboard, but still no response. I even used the onboard power button, and it's still dead. I've tested the PSU separately, and it seems to work fine. Am I missing something here? Here's a link to the setup I'm using: [Setup Image](https://i.ibb.co/GfFSV4Wt/image.png). My specs are: Gigabyte 870 motherboard, North XL case, and HX1500i PSU.

Hey! It sounds like you might need to have a CPU and RAM installed for the motherboard to show any signs of life. Even without RAM, there should be some indication that it's getting power, like LED lights on the board. Have you checked that the CPU is correctly installed? Sometimes that can cause it to not boot up properly.

I haven't gotten the RAM yet, but I thought it would still light up or something. The PSU fan spins when it's tested separately, but doesn't respond when connected to the mobo.

Just a heads up—make sure you're not trying to power on the motherboard with the socket cover still on before installing the CPU. It's a common mistake that can cause issues.

I only removed the socket cover because I wanted to troubleshoot after the initial attempt to boot with everything plugged in. I’m trying to simplify the setup now to test each component.
