Why is my political email being rejected?

I've been auto-forwarding a politically slanted newsletter to my wife and daughter, who use Hotmail and Gmail. Unfortunately, sometimes I receive bounce-back messages saying the emails are undeliverable because the recipients' servers flagged them as possible spam. I tried copying the original newsletter content and sending it directly, but both servers rejected that too. I'm confused about what could be causing this issue. What should I be cautious of to avoid getting flagged?

Sounds like the spam filtering is just being overzealous. It's what they’re designed to do! On the bright side, your wife and daughter might not mind missing out on the emails as much as you think!

It sounds like the spam filter is doing its job! Lots of factors come into play with these filters. But hey, if your wife and daughter are really interested in those newsletters, it might be worth looking into why they’re getting flagged. You could share screenshots of the emails you’re trying to forward, since some people think providers like Google and Microsoft block political emails, but that's often been disproven by research.

One reason your emails might be getting rejected is that your wife and daughter may have marked similar emails as spam in the past. If they didn’t really want these newsletters, they could be impacting future emails. It’s also important to check if the newsletter contains a lot of links to sketchy sites, as that can trigger spam filters too.
