I'm switching from Windows and need some advice on choosing the right Linux distribution. I play a lot of games on my PC and also do video editing with DaVinci Resolve. I've looked into CachyOS, Bazzite, and Nobara. I tried CachyOS but struggled to install Plex desktop due to issues with AUR, which made me reconsider. So now I'm looking at Bazzite, which seems user-friendly but might be less performant, or Nobara, which offers a good balance between performance and ease of use. I'm leaning towards Bazzite but want something I can set up quickly without troubleshooting hours on end. By the way, I'm aware of DaVinci Resolve's limitations regarding AV1 and VP9 formats. What else should I keep in mind? Here are my system specs: 5800x3d, 32GB DDR4 RAM, and 9070 XT. Any suggestions?

Your shortlist of distros is spot on for squeezing out performance! If you prefer not to tinker too much, Bazzite is a great option. Since you’re asking about Plex, I'm not sure if it's in the Fedora repositories. I use CachyOS and the AUR version works fine for me. Sometimes AUR can give errors like "could not retrieve package x," but it often helps to just try again later.
I'd recommend going with Bazzite. It's definitely one of the easiest options out there and has a good selection of gaming drivers ready to go.
I've had good experiences with Manjaro and Fedora for gaming. Currently, I'm using Mint, but I’ve never really focused on max performance. If you want a hassle-free experience, Bazzite sounds like a solid pick.
If your PC is for more than just gaming and browsing, consider looking into Fedora KDE. I’ve been using it on my 9800X3D and 9070XT, and it works well for everything from gaming to work and media consumption.
