My New Custom PC Is Not Detecting Any Monitors, What Should I Do?

Hey everyone! I just built my first custom PC and I'm having some trouble getting it to work. I turned it on, but none of my monitors are recognizing it—I just get a 'no signal' message. The monitors work fine with my gaming consoles, so I'm pretty sure they're okay. The PC itself seems to be functioning because the fans, RAM, and AIO cooler are all lit up and running.

I've tried using different cables, both new and used, connecting via HDMI and DisplayPort, and I've tested multiple monitors with no success. I even plugged the cables into the motherboard directly to see if that would help, but no luck there either. I've reset everything multiple times, including disconnecting power to both the PC and the monitors.

I'm new to all of this and honestly feeling a bit frustrated. I've read online that I might need a new motherboard since it won't post, but I'm not really sure what that means. The store tested everything before they sent it out to me, and I really don't want to call them just to explain my situation. I'd prefer not to drive back to the store if I can avoid it since it costs $60.

All the parts are custom and under a 4-year warranty, but I'm starting to feel like I did something wrong or maybe I'm just not cut out for this. Any advice on what could be going on and how to fix it?

To troubleshoot, try powering off your PC completely—hold down the power button until it shuts off. Then, ensure the display cables are firmly connected to the GPU. Turn on your monitor before booting the PC. Does anything change? Like, does the monitor light flicker or change colors? It could be a simple fix if we can narrow down the issue!

Make sure you're connecting your monitor cables to the GPU instead of the motherboard's video outputs. If you have an AMD CPU without integrated graphics, using the motherboard ports won't help.

Yeah, definitely check that! It's super common for first-time builders to overlook the GPU ports.
