Why won’t my GPU slot align with the PCIe ports?

I'm really struggling with building my PC right now. I'm using an HP case and trying to install a new ASROCK motherboard, but I can't seem to get the GPU slot to line up with the PCIe slots I've read about. I wish I could share a picture, but I can't at the moment. Anyone have any advice?

Just saw your picture link! If a case isn't compatible, it might be better to just look for a new case instead of trying to modify the existing one with cutters. This could save you a lot of potential headaches.

It sounds like your HP case might be proprietary, which means it could be designed specifically for HP motherboards. That might explain why the GPU slot isn't lining up with the standard ATX motherboard. It's tough to say for sure without a picture, but that could definitely be the issue.

Have you tried to actually fit something into the PCIe slots to see if the alignment is really a problem? Sometimes it looks off, but it could still work. Also, be cautious about modifying the case! Cutting metal isn't a great idea unless you're really certain.
