I recently installed Windows on my new PC about two months ago. I didn't realize I could set it up without linking it to a Microsoft account, but I managed to create a couple of local accounts afterward. However, I feel like there's still some leftover Microsoft-related clutter, like a "OneDriveTemp" folder on my OS drive even though I don't use OneDrive. If I were to reinstall Windows and switch to a local account from the start, would it really make a difference, or would it just be a waste of my time?

If your system is running smoothly and not slowing down, then a reinstall likely isn't necessary. But if you're really looking to get rid of all that Microsoft baggage, you could consider manually cleaning up the system instead. Uninstalling OneDrive and running a few system commands might do the trick without the hassle of a full reinstall.
Reinstalling Windows won't really help if your main goal is just to use a local account since you're already using one now. It sounds like you're seeing some remnants of the Microsoft account, but a reinstall might not resolve that. You might just be creating more work for yourself for no big change.
I get what you mean about feeling like your local account is tied to the Microsoft account. It’s a bit tricky; sometimes it feels like the system is still holding onto those old links, even if you’ve changed accounts.

I see what you mean. I just hate having unnecessary Microsoft stuff cluttering my system. I’ll look into those commands instead of going through a full reinstall.
