I'm trying to figure out if I can mix a 16GB DDR4 2666 MHz RAM with a 4GB DDR4 of the same speed, even though they're from different brands. Will this setup work in my laptop, and could there be any potential issues?

Yeah, go ahead and try it out! Worst case, your laptop won't boot, and you can just take the RAM out. If it does boot, you might want to run a memory test like memtest86 to check for stability. Having two sticks could give you some benefits with dual channel mode, but adding 4GB more isn't likely to make a huge difference unless you're already maxed out on RAM.
I had a similar experience! I tried mixing RAM modules, and while it worked for the most part, I did face some instability issues later on. Make sure to keep an eye on temperatures too, as mismatched brands can sometimes cause heating problems.
