I've been surfing some sites, and I know I might have visited a few sketchy ones. Lately, my phone suddenly switches to a Safari tab that claims I have a virus and prompts me to install some kind of protection. Is this something I should be genuinely concerned about? Also, will this affect my new phone when I transfer my data?

It sounds like the tab you're using is just redirecting you to that warning page but not necessarily a sign of malware. It's quite common for shady sites to try and scare you like that. Just make sure to close the tab and avoid clicking on any ads that pop up. You're probably okay, but keep an eye out for any strange behavior.
That's interesting! I had something similar happen but it was during a game I played for months. Just keep your apps updated and run a malware scan to be safe!
