APC SRT1500RMXLA-NC vs Eaton SU1500RTXLCDN: Which UPS Should I Choose?

I'm considering two UPS models for my operations: the APC SRT1500RMXLA-NC priced at $2400 and the Eaton SU1500RTXLCDN at $1500. Both are 1500VA/1350W double-conversion on-line pure sine wave models. I've always used APC in the past, but I've noticed a significant price increase recently. I'm looking for insights on whether I should stick with APC or switch to Eaton. Are these UPS units overkill if I'm running two of them? Should I skip the online double conversion altogether for something simpler?

While Eaton does have a decent product, just keep in mind that their software could use some improvement. That said, I've had their models for over 15 years, and they've held up quite well. Worth considering if you're looking for stability!

I've used both brands, and while APC had a solid reputation, the recent price hikes and firmware fees for management cards have made me rethink my loyalty. The Eaton management interface has really improved, and for what you're paying, it seems like a no-brainer to go with Eaton. Just make sure you're comparing the right specs!

Thanks for the heads-up! I just want the best value without sacrificing too much quality.

Don't forget, APC's newer models involve cloud-based management that costs extra. So, when pricing things, be sure to factor that into your total cost of ownership. Eaton prices might go up, too, so if you see a good deal, don’t wait too long!

Definitely! It's always a good idea to consider the long-term costs. Thanks for the advice!

I recently switched to Eaton after using APC for years, and honestly, I have no complaints. The price difference is significant, and I find their reliability to be much better. You might want to consider how often you really need the double conversion. If reliability and quality power is your priority, Eaton is a solid choice!

That's good to hear! I've had my fair share of trouble with APC, and I'm tempted to make a change. How's their customer service?

I've had a rough experience with APC UPSs dying frequently, mainly the lithium models. I would definitely steer you toward Eaton based on my multiple replacements of their products. It's pretty frustrating when you're relying on them for 24/7 operation, so I feel you!

I can relate. It's a hassle when you expect reliability, and they fail on you. Eaton seems like a better bet for long term.
