Can I safely use Flatpak with KDE in Kubuntu?

I'm new to Linux and recently switched to Kubuntu for greater flexibility compared to Cinnamon on Mint. While setting up Flatpaks, I followed a guide aimed at Ubuntu. I noticed that I installed the 'GNOME Software Flatpak Plugin' during this process, which surprised me since I'm using KDE. I'm wondering if using this plugin to install Flatpaks could cause any issues down the road, or if there's a better way to manage them on Kubuntu.

Way easier to just use KDE Discover! Go to settings, enable Flatpak support, and you're all set. You don’t need to mess with extra guides; it really is that straightforward.

Flatpaks are designed to be DE independent, but remember, if you install a Flatpak that relies on GNOME libraries, it’ll bring in those dependencies. They should work fine, but it’s worth being aware that you might end up with a few extra packages you don’t need directly for KDE.

Yeah, it’s just extra space taken up. As long as everything works, shouldn’t be a big issue.

The GNOME stuff isn't a problem for your KDE setup. It won't interfere with anything, just takes up some extra space. But it's good to know you can manage it all through KDE tools if you want something more integrated.

You're good! Even if you're using KDE, having both GTK and Qt installed is common, and those apps usually play nice together. Flatpaks are the same way; different libraries can coexist without causing problems. Just make sure they're all up to date!
