I'm putting together a new computer build for my wife, and everything seems to be working perfectly except for one issue: the motherboard (an Asus ROG STRIX B550-A) isn't recognizing the SSD when I plug it into any of the SATA ports. I've tested the SSD via USB, and it works fine, so I know it's not that. I've also experimented with different SATA cables and even swapped the power supply. Just to clarify, I'm only using the single SSD and haven't connected any M.2 drives. Any suggestions on what I might be missing?

First, double-check the connections. Make sure the SATA cable is securely attached to both the motherboard and the SSD. Also, ensure the power cable from the PSU is properly connected to the SSD. Sometimes, one of those connections can be slipped out or loose without you noticing.
Make sure you're checking for any advanced settings in BIOS regarding SATA configuration. Also, see if it recognizes other SATA devices if you have any to isolate the problem. Sometimes drivers or BIOS updates can fix these types of issues too.
I’ve looked everything over in the BIOS and even switched out the power supply, but it still won’t see the SSD. No bootable devices are showing up either.
What devices do you have plugged into the PCI Express sockets? Sometimes, certain configurations can prevent SATA ports from working properly depending on how they share lanes or resources.
I've got an RTX 3070 in there.
Have you tried all the SATA ports? Sometimes, a port can be disabled in the BIOS settings or might conflict due to another device being connected. Check your BIOS to make sure the SATA ports are enabled, and you might want to try a BIOS update if nothing else works.
Yeah, I’ve tried all ports with four different cables. SATA is definitely enabled in BIOS.

The connections seem fine since I can use it via USB. I can’t access it in Disk Management when it’s connected to SATA since that drive has the OS on it.
