My Notebook Gets Slow After Startup – Any Fixes?

I'm facing a frustrating issue with my Vivobook 16 V3607VJ where it becomes really slow after startup unless I immediately start using a program or game. I've tried a lot of things, including reinstalling Windows through recovery options, running multiple antimalware scans, and checking for hardware damage, but everything looks good.

I suspect it might be related to some power settings in Windows, but changing those doesn't seem to help. The "MyAsus" options don't work either, and this problem started right when my warranty expired, which is really annoying.

I've found a temporary "fix" by tweaking the CPU settings in the power plan, but it still slows down when I connect a second monitor. I'm planning to do a fresh install of Windows soon, so I'll see if that resolves my issues. Any advice on what else I can try?

You might want to try doing a fresh install of Windows from a USB instead of resetting or refreshing. It often helps clear up lingering issues. I know you mentioned not having a USB at the moment, but once you get one, it could make a difference!

Yeah, I plan to grab a USB soon—hopefully that'll solve the problem!

Have you checked if Intel SpeedStep is causing the slowdown? Disabling it in the BIOS might help improve performance. Just a heads up, the UEFI setup can be a bit tricky, so look for power management settings in there.

I’m not sure how to disable that though. When I enter the UEFI, there aren't many options available.
