I'm having trouble with my LG 75UM8070PUA TV. When I plug it in, the backlight turns on immediately, but the standby light starts flashing for a few seconds and then goes off. I can't see any image on the screen—just a dark display with the backlight on and no blue tint. I've noticed that the TV doesn't respond to the power button on the TV either since it's wired directly to the main board. The problem is, I don't have a remote to test if that would make a difference. I'm considering replacing the main board, but I'm not quite sure if that's the right move. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Replacing the main board could definitely be a good step. The boards are usually priced reasonably, depending on where you buy them from. If you're thinking of repairing it to resell, it sounds like a solid plan! Just make sure you check the prices to ensure it’s still worth it against getting a new TV.
You might want to check the overall cost of the main board first. I mean, nowadays you can grab a new TV for just a few hundred bucks, so it's sometimes worth it to do a side-by-side comparison before investing in repairs.
Good point! It's always worth considering how much you paid for the TV initially. Sometimes a new one is the better route!

Yeah, I've heard some boards can be around $40 shipped, which isn’t too bad! Just factor in the labor if you're not doing it yourself.
