Red CPU Error Light After Swapping Power Supply

Hey everyone! I recently switched out my power supply from a 750W Cooler Master Bronze to a 650W Be Quiet! Gold because the old one was quite noisy. After connecting everything, I tried to boot up, and I got a red CPU error light on my motherboard. Everything else seems to work fine, like the GPU fans, case fans, the AIO cooler, motherboard lights, and RAM lights. I've double-checked that everything is seated properly and made sure not to mix the cables from the old PSU. I also tested my RAM by trying one stick at a time in both the second and fourth slots. Clearing the CMOS by removing the battery for 20 mins and holding down the power button for 30 seconds didn't help either. But when I plug the old PSU back in, the system boots up without any issues. Do you think the new PSU might be faulty? Here are my specs: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max, R7 3700X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, RTX 3060 Ti.

Definitely consider getting the replacement for that Be Quiet! PSU. If you’re running into issues right out of the box, it shouldn't be a hassle to exchange it. I had a similar problem before and replacing the PSU fixed everything!

Yeah, it could just be a quirk with the new PSU. If you returned it and got a different one, hopefully, that'll solve the problem for you. Good luck!

It sounds like there might be an issue with the CPU power connectors from the new PSU. Sometimes, the cables can get mixed up or not seated perfectly even if they look fine. Have you checked those thoroughly? Also, if possible, snapping some pictures of your setup and the power connections could help others troubleshoot better. Just a thought!
